An Accessible Future for Persons with Disabilities

Some one billion people around the globe have a disability – representing 15 percent of the world’s population, most of whom live in IDA countries. Including persons with disabilities and expanding equitable opportunities are at the core of IDA's work to build sustainable, inclusive communities, aligned with the institution’s goals to end extreme poverty and promote shared prosperity.
