Several IDA-supported projects are helping Haitians replant crops, repair water supply systems, and rebuild infrastructure. One project is financing school feeding, rehabilitation of damaged schools and tuition waivers to cover up to 50,000 children in affected areas.
In the wake of a growing cholera epidemic following the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, 3 million people benefitted from IDA-supported health services and prevention and hygiene campaigns.
More than 50,000 people in rural Haiti are benefiting from safe drinking water. More than 5,000 students have access to sanitation facilities and a health center at school.
