A large and growing number of people in IDA countries experience a disability, which disproportionately affects vulnerable populations. Persons with disabilities are more likely to experience adverse socioeconomic outcomes than persons without disabilities, such as less education, poorer health outcomes, lower levels of employment, and higher poverty rates.

Children with disabilities are among the most marginalized and excluded from education in countries around the world.
It is time to acknowledge and address the yawning gaps in access, participation, and opportunities that persons with disabilities continue to encounter.
